Executive Leadership
| Barry Tarter, Executive Director | Barry Tarter has expertise in both product strategy and guiding teams' to success. Barry has authored research manuscripts published in the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research, the International Journal of Sport Management, and the International Journal of Performance Analysis of Sport. Prior to founding EXACT in 2005, Barry served as a brand manager at Unilever where he initiated the launch of Dove Styling Products. Barry also worked as a financial consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In addition, Barry is a PCA certified youth sports coach. | Simon Clements | Simon Clements is the Director for EXACT Soccer, guiding development and consultation with over 100 NCAA programs, national teams, MLS teams, and youth programs around the nation. | Gregg Tarter | Gregg Tarter is Managing Director and head of EXACT's product development and research efforts, overseeing our work in integrating quantitative methods into athlete training. Through this role, he works closely with the organizations to help them use EXACT's statistical and technology instrumentation. In addition to the above leadership, EXACT guides a board of researchers that blend knowledge across human development, statistics, neuropsychology, kinesiology and other related athletic performance specialties. This unique approach, to using a scientific standard for potentiating success in sports, enables EXACT to provide athletes, parents and coaches with better information and training opportunities than found anywhere else.
Scientific Advisory Board
| Ralph Tarter, Ph.D., Chairman of the Board | Dr. Tarter is Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Tarter has expertise in neuropsychology, psychometric measurement, and statistical methodologies. He has published 300 scientific articles and 10 books. He directs a research center funded by the NIH aimed at longitudinal prediction of outcomes from childhood to adulthood. Dr. Tarter is a graduate of Dalhousie University (MA), University of Pittsburgh (MPA), and University of Oklahoma (Ph.D.). |
| Levent Kirisci, Ph.D. | Dr. Kirisci is a professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Statistics at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Kirisci has developed as well as uses mathematics and statistics to solve complex problems requiring short and long term prediction. Dr. Kirisci, a former Fulbright Scholar, has published over 50 articles on this topic. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (MA, Ph.D.). |
| Jimmy Disch, PED | Dr. Disch, professor of Kinesiology at Rice University, has authored numerous articles in the areas of applied measurement and prediction in sport, and co-authored the textbook, Measurement and Evaluation in Human Performance. Dr. Disch is a graduate of the University of Houston (BS, M.Ed.) and Indiana University (PED). |
| Galina Kirillova, Ph.D. | Dr. Kirillova is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and is an expert in the human physiology and biochemistry. In the Soviet Union, she conducted research in bioenergetics and in the biochemical mechanisms of free oxidation and adaptation to cold. She received a MS in Human Physiology and a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from the Moscow State University. |
| Michael Vanyukov, Ph.D. | Dr. Vanyukov is a professor at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on human genetics. He has expertise in understanding how genetic and environmental factors impact an individual’s performance outcomes. Dr. Vanyukov is a graduate of the Moscow State University (Ph.D.). |
| Ty Ridenour, Ph.D. | Dr. Ridenour’s training and experience diversely spans psychology and epidemiology with an emphasis on statistical methodologies. Dr. Ridenour’s research has been continuously funded by the NIH. Currently, he is Director of the Translation Module of the Center for Education and Drug Abuse Research at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2009, Dr. Ridenour began his term as Chair of the Early Career Preventionist Network and as a Board Member of the Society for Prevention Research. |
