Chelsey Scott returns to her alma mater for her first season as an assistant coach for the Lady Hornets in the 2017-18 academic year.

Scott returns to Alabama State after one year of coaching at Charles Henderson High School, where she doubled as a Science teacher. During her time at Charles Henderson, Scott taught 9th grade biology and honors biology; while also teaching 11th grade physical science and coaching volleyball.

Scott, an Enterprise (Ala.) native, has served as a counselor/instructor for the Play Like Winners Volleyball Club in Montgomery (Ala.). While there, she made sure all the paperwork was completed in a timely manner, and that the equipment was readily available. She also helped in day-to-day coaching in practice to ready themselves for competition.

While attending Alabama State as a student-athlete, Scott helped the Lady Hornets to a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championships. She was a two-time SWAC All-Conference selection on the Second Team, and was a Four-Time Player of the Week.

Scott earned All-Tournament Team honors, and was a member of the 800-kill club. She also served as a mentor for ASU Aspire during her time on campus, and volunteered at the Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity.

Scott received her Bachelors degree from Alabama State University in 2016. She currently resides in Montgomery.
