Angelo State Associate Head Coach David Lewis will be entering his sixth season on the Angelo State mens basketball staff, and has been a major role player in the teams successes. They have won over 100 games in his first 5 years reaching 3 NCAA tournaments and a national ranking as high #4. He also developed 10 All-Conference players in his time at the school. Lewis came to Angelo State from the Orlando Magic where he worked as a video analyst/opposition scout after being an assistant coach with the Austin Toros in the 2013-14 season. In Orlando, he came in under Jacque Vaughn and had the opportunity to work with Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris, Elfrid Payton, Aaron Gordon and Nik Vucevic. He worked under head coach Ken McDonald and along side Josh Howard, Flip Murray and Luke Zeller while with the Austin Toros.  His coaching career started at the University of Texas at Austin under Rick Barnes where he work with 9 players who went on to be drafted into the NBA.
