Amy Kolowsky just completed her fourth season as a member of head coach Sarah Stricklands coaching staff for the Appalachian State Mountaineer Women's Soccer program. In her fourth year on the sidelines, Kolowsky had Taylor Ray as the main goalkeeper for the first time in her career. Ray started in 15 of her 16 appearances, seeing 1400 minutes of action. Ray posted 68 saves with one shutout. Steyl also saw time between the posts as she played in four matches with three starts, stopping seven shots in 229 minutes of time in the net. Lauren Burke was the third goalkeeper that saw some time, seeing three matches of action on the pitch. In 200 minutes of playing time, she posted a .90 goals against average and a .778 save percentage.  In just Appalachian's third year in the Sun Belt Conference, the Mountaineers used a 4-1 end streak and a 4-3 double overtime thriller over top-ranked South Alabama to secure its second-straight conference tournament berth as the No. 4 seed. Sam Steyl was Kolowsky's main goalkeeper throughout the season, logging more than 1,600 minutes in the net. Steyl finished with 73 saves and four shutouts in 18 games played. Taylor Ray played in four games, starting two to finish with a 2-0 record, six saves and a 0.68 goals against average. In 2015-16, the Mountaineers shut out six opponents and limited opposing teams to one goal or less in 15 of 20 matches. Megan Roberson was Kolowskys main goalkeeper last season, and she logged 1,600 minutes, had 71 saves and four shutouts. Roberson was named 2015 Sun Belt Student-Athlete of the Week for her performances against High Point and Marshall, having 11 saves in the win against High Point and a tie against Marshall. She allowed just three goals in seven matches with a 0.52 goals against average. Also under Kolowsky was Sam Steyl, who worked behind Roberson. Steyl played in six games and had seven saves, contributing to two shutouts. Kolowsky spent the previous five seasons as a goalkeeper in the womens soccer program under Strickland. She currently is seventh all-time for single-season saves (95) and sixth all-time for career saves (131) in program history. Kolowsky brings club coaching experience, specifically with goalkeepers at the High Country Soccer Association (HCSA) and currently holds a USSF Class C Coaching license.
