Hired in April 2018, Sam Matteson joins the Bulldogs staff as an assistant coach with the men's soccer program.
Matteson has recorded assistant coaching stints at the University of New Haven, Bridgewater State and Wheelock College and is currently the ECNL Director for the Boston Bolts.
As a player, he suited up for four years for the Mitchell College Mariners and was a two-time conference champion, winning New England Collegiate Conference rings in 2006 and 2008. He made a career-high 12 appearances for the Red and Black in 2007.
He graduated from Mitchell College with a Bachelor's of Science in Sport and Fitness Management and also holds an MBA in Sports Industries from the University of New Haven. He also holds a United States Soccer Federation D License.
