Isabel Almendarez-Ramos enters her third season as the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Cedar Valley College.

Almendarez came to Cedar Valley College after coaching at Pure Intensity Volleyball Prep since 2011, where she was the program director and head coach and led regional teams that placed first and second in Gold Bracket USA Volleyball Tournaments and first in Silver Bracket USA Volleyball Tournaments in North Texas Region. Prior to Pure Intensity, Almendarez was the head coach for the Metro Heat Volleyball Club from 2009-2011.

A native of Fort Worth, Almendarez played her high school volleyball at R.L. Paschal High School, receiving many accolades such as Most Valuable Player and Most Aggressive Player for the Lady Panthers. She also had much success at the club level playing for the Texas Advantage Volleyball Club and the USAV Womens A Level Team from 2006-2007, where she made a National Tournament appearance at the libero position.

Coach Almendarez started her collegiate playing career at Brookhaven College in Farmers Branch, TX. While there she helped lead the volleyball program to back-to-back NJCAA DIII National Championship Titles at the libero position. She was also nominated as a National Junior College Athletic Association All-American and named Region V and All-Metro Athletic Conference selection along with holding the school record for digs in a single set. Coach Almendez would then finish her collegiate career at Texas Wesleyan University.

Almendarez received her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies within Business from Texas Wesleyan University and is currently working on her Masters of Secondary Education in Kinesiology.
