The Snohomish, Wash. native spent three seasons as an assistant coach in the program under former head coach Peter Maneggia Jr. before being named head coach on an interim basis in the summer of 2014. After playing four seasons of volleyball at the University of Connecticut (2003-06), Silver-Droesch spent two years as a graduate assistant at Springfield College (2007-08) before joining the Eastern staff in the fall of 2011. In Silver-Droesch's nine full seasons at Eastern, seven players have been selected to the NEWVA Senior Classic, two have been named LEC Rookie-of-the-Year and ten have been awarded spots on the All-LEC team -- including back-to-back Offensive Player of the Year and All-America Honors. Silver-Droesch's nine teams have averaged nearly seven LEC All-Academic achievers each year -- including a program-record eight in 2016 in the academic program's 11-year existence. A total of 21 of her juniors and seniors have earned an E-Club Scholar-Athlete Award in four years, with seven of them being Outstanding (cumulative 3.50+ GPA) recipients. Since becoming head coach, Silver Droesch has led the team to three appearances in the conference championship match, winning in 2018. Silver Droesch was named LEC Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2018. Silver Droesch also attended the high performance clinic at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Facility in the summer of 2013. Silver Droesch competed with the Midnight Riders of the Premier Volleyball League for the three years. As a four-year Big East Academic All-Star, Silver Droesch appeared in 269 games for the Huskies, accumulating 235 blocks (currently 10th all-time), 448 kills and a .241 attack percentage. As a senior, the 6-foot-1 inch middle hitter set personal career highs in most every category, led the squad in block assists (118) and total blocks (126) and helped the team to the Big East Tournament after a three-year hiatus. In Silver Droesch's four years, UConn won 71 and lost 47 (27-23 in the Big East), including a 20-win season in 2003 and 19-win campaign in 2006. Silver Droesch holds a B.A. in English from Connecticut, M.Ed from Springfield in Educational Studies, and M.A from Eastern Connecticut in Organizational Management. She resides in Canterbury.
