Barry comes to GW after five years as the head coach at Division II Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She accumulated 61 wins during her tenure with the Savage Storm, advancing to the Great American Tournament on four occasions. In 2016, Barry led the program on its longest postseason run as the No. 8 seed, defeating the top seed Harding in the first round before advancing to the program's first conference championship match. Barry joined Southeastern as a graduate assistant in 2013 before being elevated to head coach in 2014. She coach 13 all-conference performers in her five years at the helm. Barry played collegiately at Florida State where she earned ACC Player of the Year honors as a senior in 2009. She was also tabbed a second team All-American and the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year all while serving as the team's co-captain. Following her graduation from FSU with a degree in sports management, Barry played internationally for three years in Switzerland for Volleyball Franches-Montagnes.
