Matty Evans enters his first season as an assistant for the men's soccer program. Evans joined the coaching staff in March of 2018 after serving as an assistant coach for West Chester University during the 2017 season. Evans helped West Chester compile 14 wins and earn a No. 17 final ranking. The Golden Rams won the regular season Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship with a perfect 11-0 record, becoming the first PSAC team to ever go 11-0 in league play. West Chester won its first NCAA Tournament match since 1967 and advanced to the Sweet 16.  Prior to joining the Golden Rams, Evans spent a year at Seton Hill, where he served as a student assistant for the men's and women's soccer teams. Evans began his collegiate career at Genesee Community College, where he played two seasons before transferring to Seton Hill. As a goalkeeper for the Griffins, Evans set a PSAC record with eight shutouts during the 2015 regular season as Seton Hill set a program record with 12 wins. Evans started 36 matches for the Griffins, notching 131 saves with a .744 save percentage. Off the field, Evans was a two-time PSAC scholar-athlete and a recipient of the NCAA Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. In 2016, Evans started eight matches in goal for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the Premier Development League.  A native of Bedford, England, Evans graduated from Seton Hill in 2017 with a bachelor's in science.
