Jon Aldridge, a native of Plainfield, Ind., completed his second season at
Loras College after spending the previous three years as a high school
assistant coach at Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.
During the 2018 - 2019 season, the Loras Mens Basketball team made
several program firsts including first national ranking, first Sweet
Sixteen appearance, first win over a #1 ranked team, and first season
with three wins over top-15 ranked teams. The Duhawks lost to National
Champion, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh during the Sweet Sixteen.
In 2018, Aldridge was one of thirty college coaches from Division
I-III selected to participate in the first annual NCAA College Coaches
Academy. The academy aims to grow proficiency in all areas of
becoming a collegiate head coach.
During the 2017 season, the Loras team set a school scoring record of
165 points in a single game, scoring 100 in the first half and making an
ESPN Top 10 appearance. The Duhawks finished 19-7 on the year and finished
second in the IIAC behind national champions Nebraska Wesleyan University.
In his threes years on staff at Park Tudor, Aldridge helped the Panthers
to a 62-14 record and a 23-1 conference record. The Panthers ranked
top-10 in the state each year while securing three conference titles
and the programs second pair of back-to-back Indiana 2A State
Championships. During this time the Panthers saw 5 players pursue playing careers at the
Division 1 level.
A graduate from the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelors of
Science in Exercise Science, Aldridge completed his degree with an
internship at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. There, Aldridge aided
in the supervision and training of the Temple football program along
with other administrative and maintenance duties.
