Ian McGimsey was named the first LSUE Women's Head Soccer Coach in March 2018.  McGimsey comes to LSUE from Northeast Texas Community College spending three years as the head coach of the womens program, amassing a 32-18-1 record. McGimsey spent five seasons at NTCC, including three as head coach from 2015-2017.  He helped develop their mens side to produce the schools first NJCAA Final 8 National Tournament appearance and the womens teams first conference tournament in 2014. His Eagles were 9-7 in 2017 before falling to eventual National Champion Tyler Junior College in the Region XIV Playoffs.  His 2016 squad enjoyed a 14-4 nationally ranked season, finishing second in their conference. As a head coach at NTCC, McGimsey helped ten players move on to four-year institutions.  In his first season as head coach at NTCC, the Eagles notched nine wins a new school record that was broken the following season. In addition to his duties as womens head coach, McGimsey serves as the assistant to the mens team. The Rochester, NY native started his playing career at Monroe CC (NJCAA Division I) before continuing at University of Buffalo.  While in college, he interned and trained with the Rochester Lancers (MISL) and Rochester Rhinos (USL) to learn day-to-day operations of soccer organizations. McGimsey started his coaching career started at Monroe CC where he served as an assistant mens coach in 2010.  He has a bachelors degree in Sports Management with a minor in coaching from SUNY-Brockport.
