Division 1

Croucher comes to Ruston after spending the previous two years as an assistant coach at the University of Saint Mary. In her final season at the program last year, she helped guide the program to the most victories in school history (18).

While coaching at Saint Mary, Croucher provided assistance at practices, helped with player development, compiled scouting reports and game strategy, recruiting, fundraising, and developed a strength and conditioning program.

We are very excited to welcome Jessica to Louisiana Tech, de Souza noted. Jessica comes to our program after bringing success to the University of Saint Mary program during her time as an assistant there. Since the beginning of her interview process, I felt she would bring very positive volleyball knowledge and coaching to our program.

Prior to coaching, Croucher was a four-year starter on the volleyball team at Delaware State from 2010-14. Upon graduation, she obtained her undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Arts in physical education, with a minor in coaching management. Most recently, while at Saint Mary, she earned her masters degree in sports administration.

I am honored and excited to get the chance to be part of the LA Tech volleyball program and community, Croucher remarked. Coach Adriano De Souza has a great vision for the program, not only in developing the game, but also developing young female athletes into well-rounded women. I am thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of the staff, and help promote a coaching philosophy I believe in. I am looking forward to this coming season and to hit the ground running.

After her collegiate career, Croucher was a member of the Australian Senior Womens volleyball program for two years in 2015-16, while also playing for the Australian National Team in the 2016 World Grand Prix. She was also a key starter and co-captain for the Queensland Pirates for two years helping them win bronze in the Australian Volleyball League in 2014.

As a player, Jessica was a very powerful outside hitter at the Division I level, de Souza added. She also brings experience and game knowledge from playing with the Australian National Team, which will be extremely valuable for us.
