Matt McCarty joined the Millikin coaching staff in July 2017 serving as an assistant coach with the Big Blue men's soccer program.     After playing for Millikin as a freshman, McCarty spent three years as an Undergraduate Student Coach for the Big Blue mens soccer team for three years.  McCarty gained coaching experience at the club level working as both a head coach for Decatur's Midstate Soccer Club where he's now the club's Director of Coaching Education. He has also worked camps at Saint Louis University, Missouri State University, Eastern Illinois University, and Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. McCarty has helped the Big Blue become a regionally ranked program in just his second year as a full-time member of the staff and receive votes toward the National Top 25 for the first time in program history.    McCarty graduated from Millikin University with a bachelors degree in Mathematics Education.  McCarty holds a USSF National B License, FA Level 1 Psychology Award, FA Level 1 in Talent Identification Certificate from English FA, and a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper 1 Diploma.
