David Krems enters his second season as the assistant coach of the Penn State Behrend men's soccer program in 2019. Krems brings seven years of coaching experience to the men's soccer team. Krems helped lead the Lion's to a 16-4-2 record in the 2018 season in which three players were selected United Soccer Coaches All Great Lakes Region. The Lion's made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament, eventually falling to the National Runner Up, Calvin University.
Prior to joining the Lion's coaching staff, Krems served as an assistant coach at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. While at Case, Krems assisted with all aspects of the men's soccer program including player development, travel coordination, film, and opponent scouting. The Spartans posted a 7-9-2 record in 2017 against one of the toughest schedules in the nation, playing 12 matches against Top 25 opponents.
In 2016, Krems served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Notre Dame College. Other prior coaching stops include Hiram College and Xavier University. David was a four-year starter at Hiram, and he helped lead the Terreirs to a 43-17-13 overall record during his collegiate career. He graduated fourth all-time in goals scored at Hiram. Krems graduated from HC with a bachelor's degree in business management in 2010.
