James Boden was named Suffolk men's soccer head coach in August 2015 and begins his fourth season at the helm of the Rams in 2018. In his first season with the blue-and-gold, Boden guided the Rams through challenges and diversity into GNAC postseason tournament for the eighth time in the last nine seasons. The eighth-seeded Rams, who went 2-6-1 against conference competition in the regular season, fell to the top-seeded Wildcats of Johnson & Wales in the quarterfinals to finish the year, 2-16-1. Boden's first Suffolk squad was backed by junior defenseman [Ben Daniels](http://www.gosuffolkrams.com/sports/msoc/2015-16/bios/daniels_ben_2ial), a third team honoree.  Bodens second season, 2016, was one of the most successful for Suffolk in recent history. After putting together the most victories against conference competition (6-3) since joining the GNAC ranks in 1999, the Rams received at-home advantage for the leagues quarterfinals as the tournaments fourth seed. Sophomore [Jordan Casey](http://www.gosuffolkrams.com/sports/msoc/2016-17/bios/casey_jordan_l68y) secured a 2-0 win for the Rams, but the regular season champion and tournament top seed ended Suffolks run in the semifinals capping the blue-and-golds season at 9-10 overall. The season saw five student-athletes garner six all-conference honors from the GNAC highlighted by Rookie of the Year accolades for [Jarrett Davis](http://www.gosuffolkrams.com/sports/msoc/2016-17/bios/davis_jarrett_41sp). The freshman grabbed third-team recognition along with [Christian Restrepo](http://www.gosuffolkrams.com/sports/msoc/2016-17/bios/restrepo_christian_on33), while [Alberto Bittan](http://www.gosuffolkrams.com/sports/msoc/2016-17/bios/bittan_alberto_gy51) represented the Rams on the first team and Casey and [Ben Daniels](http://www.gosuffolkrams.com/sports/msoc/2016-17/bios/daniels_ben_peh1) earned spots on the second squad.  Prior to standing along the sidelines as coach, the three-year player at Sheffield Hallam University in England, Boden also had youth contracts with Stoke City FC, Port Vale and Chesterfield FC. Boden, a 2004 graduate from Sheffield Hallam with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science (BSc), moved across the pond to begin his coaching career in 2005. Atop of his coaching tasks, Boden will continue to develop his sports and fitness businesses Boston Beach Soccer, Cape Cod Futsal and AllGen Athletes, which he started in 2011.
