Former Oregon soccer standout Maryn Beutler is in her first season as the Ducks director of operations. Beutler, from Bend, Ore., was a midfielder for the Ducks from 2012-16. She played in 78 career matches and scored eight goals with two assists for 18 points. Of her eight goals, five were game-winners. Her 78 appearances ranks sixth all-time at Oregon, while her 94 career shots ranks 10th. She earned Pac-12 player of the week honors during her senior season after recording a goal and an assist in Oregons wins over Arizona and Arizona State. After graduating from Oregon with a degree in journalism in 2016, Beutler moved to Portland to work in information technology staffing with Insight Global. She started as a recruiter, and was promoted to account management after eight months. She was responsible for several managing accounts, including Columbia Sportswear, Salesforce and Verizon. She also coached the 02 and 03 Girls in the Eastside Timbers Soccer Club and played in the WPSL with the Westside Timbers. Prior to Oregon, Beutler led Bend High School to the 2008 and 2009 state 5A championships.
