He previously coached collegiately at Michigan State with the mens program from 2005-07 and has coached elite youth teams locally with the San Diego Surf SC. Montéle is an outstanding coach who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our program, said head coach Louise Lieberman. He has a ton of energy and passion that is infectious. He is a terrific addition to our staff and team. Graves will work primarily with the goalkeepers among other responsibilities. He holds a U.S. Soccer B coaching license and a speed coaching certificate. "I would like to thank head coach Lou Lieberman and Executive Director of Athletics Bill McGillis for the opportunity to be a part of the University of San Diego family, said Graves. I'm honored to join the USD women's soccer program and be surrounded by a very talented group of coaches and players. Lou's passion for creating a kindred-spirited team environment, in which our student-athletes can thrive on and off the field is inspiring. I'm excited about being a part of a new era of women's soccer at USD. My wife Amber, daughter Amani, and son Zion are all happy to be joining the Torero family as well." Graves currently serves as the speed, agility and quickness coach for San Diego Surf SC club teams. He is also a former U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy U16 coach. During his three years with Michigan State, Graves helped the team accumulate a 30-18-11 record and helped lead the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament in 2007. He coached Jason Tillman, Chris Austin and Avery Steinlege three of Michigan States all-time leaders in save percentage. Previous club stops for Graves include the TNT Dynamite Soccer Club (Lansing, Michigan), Phoenix Soccer Club (Lansing, Michigan) and the Brighton Soccer Club (Brighton, Michigan). Graves played collegiate soccer at Michigan State from 1996-97. He was an all-conference selection and Lansing Everett High School Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 1996. Graves graduated with a bachelors degree in marketing from Michigan State in 2000 and earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix (Detroit) in 2003.
