Jerry Hare will enter his third year as assistant coach for the Titans in 2019. Hare brings 28 years of coaching experience with specialty in goalkeeping to the mens and womens soccer programs. He also assist on the recruiting front. In 2018, the mens soccer team won the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship vs Grove City College and made appearance to the NCAA DIII National Tournament while the womens soccer team finished as a runner-up in a PK shootout in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship vs Grove City College and earned a trip to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament.

 

On the mens side, Hare mentored AJ Bove, a senior goalkeeper to his best season of his career, which he finished atop of the PAC in save percentage (.814), second in goals against average (0.98), fifth in saves per game (3.89) and tied for third in saves (70). Bove tallied a career-high 11 saves against Grove City in the PAC Championship Final. AJ Bove was one of Seven Westminster College men's soccer players earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) honors while Head Coach [Girish Thakar](https://athletics.westminster.edu/coaches.aspxrc=198) was named PAC Coach of the Year.

 

On the womens side, Hare helped a first year goalkeeper Camille Holzschuh, having a successful season and accomplished many individual milestones. She was one of six Westminster College women's soccer players earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) accolades, which she received honorable mention honor. The Honorable Mention honor was the second of her career. Holzschuh, who was recently named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Defensive Player of the Month for October, placed fourth in the conference in saves with 88. She also finished third in save percentage (.846), goals against average (0.81), and tied for third in shutouts (6).

 

Hare is the Founder and Director of the Hare Goalkeeper Academy, which provides year-round education and training to young goalkeepers, ages seven thru 22 in western Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. Hare spent the past 20 years as Varsity Assistant Soccer Coach at Shady Side Academy (SSA), primarily working with the boys and girls goalkeepers. He helped lead the Girls Varsity team to the WPIAL Class A Championship victories in 2010, 2013, 2016 and finished as a Runner-up in the PIAA State Championship game in 2016. His girls team won the 2017 PIAA State Class A Championship for the first time in school history. On the boys side, he helped lead the boys to the WPIAL Class A & AA Finals in 2002, 2006, 2008, 2016 and winning the WPIAL Championship in 2017 and 2018.
 
In 1990 as a volunteer goalkeeper coach, he helped lead Hampton High School Boys Soccer to the WPIAL and PIAA Class AA Championship victories. During his nineteen years at SSA, his boys goalkeepers have a combined GAA (goal away average) record of 0.89 and a combined GAA record of 1.22 for the girls goalkeepers.
 
His personal philosophy is to build a motivating and positive environment for growth and development through dedication, hard work, and teamwork.
 
Hare holds NSCAA National Goalkeeper Diploma, NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma and NSCAA High School Coaches Diploma. Coach Hare is a certified CPR Trainer and Sport Safety Trainer from American Red Cross.
