With the start of the 2015 campaign, Abby Richter is in her 10th season with the Kent State staff after rejoining the program as an assistant coach in April 2008. Richter, who previously served on the Golden Flashes staff as a graduate assistant under head coach Rob Marinaro from 2003-04, returned to Kent State after spending the previous two seasons at Ball State University.
During her tenure with the Kent State soccer program, the Golden Flashes have hoisted Mid-American Conference trophies three times; including the team’s MAC-East title in 2011, Kent State won back-to-back regular season MAC titles posting a 23-9-8 overall record and a 15-4-5 record in the league during the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
Richter’s primary roles on the Kent State coaching staff include recruiting, academics and team travel.
Richter also brings expertise as a collegiate goalkeeper. In 2010, Richter added to her soccer accreditation when she received an Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
