Pearce brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Buckeyes. During his tenure at Embry-Riddle, he coached five student-athletes to All-American honors, two members were named Cal-Pac Conference Defensive Players of the Year while two others were Cal Pac Conference Freshman of the Year winners. Pearce guided the Eagles to the conference tournament semifinals four straight years, reaching the conference final in both 2013 and 2014. He led the program to the NAIA national tournament after claiming the Cal Pac Conference crown in 2013. In all, he developed 17 student-athletes into All-Cal Pac conference selections.

Prior to his arrival in Prescott, Pearce was serving as an assistant coach for Oregon State. Pearce helped the Beavers record 26 wins in his four seasons on the bench, including a 9-6-1 mark and second-place finish in the highly competitive Pac-12 Conference in 2009, the highest finish by an Oregon State squad since 2002. He helped foster 15 of his players on to Pac-12 All-Conference recognition, and two be recognized as NSCAA All-Region. Under his watch, Danny Mwanga was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year, NSCAA All-American, and was selected by the Philadelphia Union as the #1 overall pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. The Beaver men thrived in the classroom as well during his time there, as 16 different players received recognition as Pac-12 Academic All-Americans, with nine of those players receiving the award multiple times. As a team, Oregon State was awarded the NSCAA Team Academic Award three of the four years Coach Pearce was a part of their program too.

Before his stint at Oregon State, Pearce was head coach of the men’s & women’s soccer programs at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. In his three seasons there, the women’s team compiled a 26-22-7 record and posted their first consecutive winning seasons in school history. The Lady Badgers finished second in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in 2007, and he left as the winningest women’s soccer coach in the school’s history. While leading both of the Badger squads, three of his men’s, and seven of the women’s players were named to the All-GCAC Teams. Equally focused academically, two men and seven women student-athletes were named NAIA Scholar Athletes. His women’s teams twice received the NAIA Scholar Team Award, and the 2008 team earned the Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Pearce also spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Concordia University (OR), and one year as an assistant coach at Central Arkansas. He served as the head coach at Ridgefield (Wash.) High School, and was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Akron for a season.

Pearce played collegiately for three seasons at Concordia University in Portland, where he was a two-time All-Conference selection, and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-America in 1999. He then played professionally for the Portland Timbers, and had professional trials in England and Ireland.

Pearce graduated magna cum laude from Concordia with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education in 2000 and received his Master’s of Education from the University of Akron in 2004. Coach Pearce lives in Columbus with his wife Anna, daughter Abrielle, son Aivind, as well as their dog Jane.
