Ahen Kim will enter his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Eagles in 2017. In addition to helping lead AU to four consecutive Patriot League Championship titles and four NCAA Tournament berths, Kim was part of the staff that guided the Eagles to the first NCAA Tournament wins in program history during the 2013 campaign, and again in 2015.
Kim was previously an assistant coach at Houston Baptist University where he focused on the development of the defensive specialists and outside hitters. He helped the team to a 22-win season and a third-place finish in the Great West Conference championships in 2011. Kim also served as the assistant coach at George Washington University during the 2010 season and Catholic University in 2009.
While working at the collegiate level, Kim has also been a coach with the Metro American Volleyball Club where he has been the travel head coach since 2009. He has coached the 14-and-Under through 17-and-Under teams for the organization.
Kim was an outside hitter for the men’s club volleyball team at Franklin and Marshall and was the head coach during his senior season.
Kim graduated from Franklin and Marshall in 2007 with a degree in sociology and American government.
