Alex M. Postpischil joined the Winston-Salem State volleyball coaching staff in the fall of 2013 with a wealth of experience and a strong knowledge of the game, built from a career that spans nearly 20 years. He came to WSSU following a stint at nearby Salem College that saw him help lead the Spirits to their first Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) championship and NCAA tournament appearance in school history.

During his career, Postpischil has coached at a variety of levels, including stints at Salem College, Maryland, Creighton, and at UNC-Greensboro. He has also had several high school coaching stints, including coaching at Stone Ridge High School in Bethesda, Maryland, McLean High School in McLean, Virginia, and Walkertown High School in nearby Walkertown, North Carolina. He has also spent time with several juniors programs.

In addition to his coaching at the high school and collegiate levels, Postpischil also assisted in a semi-pro league that traveled to Brazil for two weeks of tournament play. He also coaches both indoor and sand volleyball. He also worked at the AVCA Collegiate Sand Championships. He has also been a regional referee and holds a CAP Level II (Indoor) and Beach CAP Level I coaching certification from USA Volleyball.

This summer Postpischil is the Head Coach of the Youth Team (16 & 17 year olds) for the Carolina Region (USAV) High Performance Program. The team will compete at the National High Performance Championships in Des Moines, IA.
