The University of Mary Washington has hired former Lynchburg College soccer player/assistant coach Alicia LaPorta to the full time position of Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach/Admissions Counselor.
LaPorta comes to UMW with a Master of Business Administration from Lynchburg, where she also played two seasons in goal for the Hornets. She served three years as an assistant coach after a career-ending injury, leading the Hornets to five NCAA Tournaments and four ODAC championships.
She will provide assistance to the program in all facets, especially in recruiting youth athletes for the program.
