Coach Varns enters his third year as an Assistant Coach for the Tars. In his first two seasons, Varns has been instrumental in leading Rollins to an overall record of 26-8-4, 14-2-1 in the SSC, and back-to-back berths in the NCAA tournament.

Varns came to Winter Park and Rollins’ nationally ranked program after two seasons as an assistant at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colo.

A native of Sheffield, England, Varns enjoyed a very successful collegiate playing career at Brescia University in Owensboro, Ky. He was a two-time NAIA All-America selection and was also honored as the National Player of the Week in his time at Brescia. Varns left school as Brescia’s all-time leading scorer with 82 goals in 79 games.

Prior to coming to the United States, Varns attended the professional academy at Rochdale Football Club until the age of 18. He went on to play semi-professionally for two years at Accrington Stanley
