Knight will serve as the Aggies’ volunteer assistant coach and his primary duties will involve mentoring the Texas A&M infielders. Knight arrives in College Station after serving as a volunteer assistant for two years at Dallas Baptist. Knight was a four-year starter at Dallas Baptist. He earned Freshman All-American honors his rookie season in 2007 after hitting .338 with 12 doubles, 43 RBI and six stolen bases. He started every game at shortstop for the Patriots’ 2008 squad that advanced to the College Station regional. The Denton native moved to second base in 2009, hitting .321 with 10 doubles and 36 RBI while committing just five errors on the year. As a senior, Knight made just four errors on defense while hitting .307 with 17 doubles, seven home runs and 36 RBI. He holds the DBU career record for walks with 169.
