Ben Diller is in his first season as an assistant coach for Widener.  He arrives after serving last year as an assistant at Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, where the team went 9-7-1 and missed the district playoffs by one game.  Diller played collegiately at Alvernia from 2009-12 as the team’s No. 1 goalkeeper his junior and senior years.  As a junior, he helped the Crusaders to their best record and was tabbed first team All-Commonwealth Conference as well as second team All-Mid-Atlantic Region.  The team lost in the conference final to Messiah and in the ECAC South semifinals to Swarthmore.  As a senior, he was picked second team all-league and led Alvernia to the ECAC South championship.  Diller finished his career as the Crusaders’ record holder in shutouts and goals against average, is second in saves and third in save percentage.
