The 2014 season will be Ben Wharton’s fourth with the Covenant baseball program and head coach Doug Simons.
A former professional baseball player, Wharton began part-time as the Scots outfield coach and strength and conditioning coach in 2008 before being hired full-time in 2010. Coach Wharton has played two seasons in the Independent minor leagues, in 2007 with the Bay Area Toros (Continental Baseball League) and in 2008 with the Reno Silver Sox (Golden Baseball League).
