Bonewitz began his tenure at Alvernia in 2006 as the assistant coach, before being named the head coach for the 2007 season. This was his 24th year of coaching after spending 10 years at Ursinus College. Bonewitz received the “Ace Bailey” Award from Ursinus College for outstanding contributions to the enrichment of the college’s athletic programs. Prior to that, he spent 12 years coaching select and premier levels of youth teams in both Eastern Pa.Youth Soccer for 11 years and one season in Eastern New York Youth programs.
