Brian Leighton enters his second year as an assistant coach at MIT. Brian oversees recruiting, day-to-day operations, and works directly with the team’s goalkeepers.

A four-year starter with Mount Ida College’s men’s soccer team, Leighton led the Mustangs to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2005, and received various North Atlantic Conference and Great Northeast Athletic Conference accolades prior to his graduation.

Leighton spent one year competing for the Maine Sting, a member of the US Club Soccer National Premier League before returning to his alma mater as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team. He spent two years coaching Delta FC and is currently in his third season with the Celtic Bolts FC as head coach.

Leighton holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and masters in management. He also has a class “E” coaching license certified by the USYSA.
