Brian Pugh enters his third season as the assistant baseball coach at Temple University under head coach Ryan Wheeler. Pugh, who has 12 years of collegiate coaching experience, spent seven years as an assistant coach and three years as a head coach before arriving to Temple in 2011. Among his duties, he coordinates the Owls’ pitching program, is responsible for recruiting, coordinates the placement of players with summer teams and serves as the team’s liaison with the Office of Compliance and Student Services.
Prior to his arrival, Pugh spent three years as the head baseball coach at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa., where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program. During those three seasons, Pugh coached two Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area and three All-Commonwealth Conference players. Seven of his student-athletes were named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s Academic Honor Roll.
