C.J. Wamsley is in his second season on the Troy coaching staff as the assistant coach. Wamsley will work with the catchers and outfielders in addition to working with the Trojan hitters.
In his first season, Troy finished 11th in the NCAA in doubles per game (2.16), 13th in doubles (125), 21st in home runs (47), 24th in home runs per game (0.81) and 35th in scoring (6.4). He coached true freshman catcher Jake Harrell, who was in the running for Sun Belt Freshman of the Year after he hit .286 with 12 doubles and three home runs despite missing all of fall practice.

Wamsley came to Troy from Morehead State, where he served as an assistant coach and camp coordinator for the Eagles. While at Morehead State, Wamsley coached catcher Taylor Davis who currently plays in the Chicago Cubs organization.
