This past season MSJC sent 5 of their 6 sophomores on to the university level with scholarships to continue their academic and playing careers and four of the six will graduated this past Spring.  On the field the Lady Eagles had their most wins since 2007 and their best winning percentage since 2005.  During the 2012 season MSJC rose to as high as #7 in the Southern California rankings on their way to a 10-4-5 record.  Two Lady Eagle players earned First Team All Foothill Conference honors and two more were named to the Second Team.  Coach Hayes team played great defense during the 2012 season recording 7 shut outs in their 10 victories.

Prior to coming to MSJC Coach Hayes was a very successful high school and club coach as well as having experience as a college assistant.  Hayes was named the Inland Valley Coach of the Year in 2010 while leading the girls program at Moreno Valley High School.  Coach Hayes also had stops at Pacific High School, Chino Hills, and Redlands High.  Chauncey also has coached goalies and defense at the college level spending two seasons at both Cal State San Bernardino and San Bernardino Valley College.  Hayes has also coached a number of club teams throughout Southern California for both boys and girls ranging in age from under 18s to under 10s.
