Chris Haught-Thompson was hired in January 2017 after serving as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Virginia Military Institute for the previous two seasons.

Haught-Thompson helped the Keydets advance out of the first round of the conference tournament in back-to-back seasons for only the second time in program history. The 2016 season saw the program set a record for shutouts in a season.

Prior to arriving at VMI, Haught-Thompson was a familiar face as the assistant men’s soccer coach at Lake Forest College where he helped lead the Foresters to two Midwest Conference titles and a MWC tournament title. He also served as the assistant women’s soccer coach for a season at Lake Forest.

Haught-Thompson graduated from Lake Forest in 2012 with a B.A. in Psychology.  He scored 26 career points for the Foresters with six goals and 10 assists. He was also a two-year captain, two-time Academic All-MWC honoree, and three-time All-MWC selection.  He recently completed his master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania. mater.
