Christopher Helms was named assistant coach of the men’s soccer program in the summer of 2014. Helms, a native of Hamburg, Germany, works with the Terriers’ goalkeepers and assists the head coach in recruiting. In addition to coaching at St. Francis Brooklyn, Helms is the current head coach and assistant director of coaching for the Queens-based soccer club, Eleftheria Pancyprian. Previous to his position with Eleftheria Pancyprian, Helms was the director of goalkeeping for many local soccer clubs such as Met-Oval and FSF Brooklyn. Helms operates his own goalkeeper training program, “Elite 11 Goalkeeping.” The program is geared to mentor local goalkeepers, ranging from ages 6-to-18, and is perceived as one of the most professional goalkeeping training programs in New York City.
