Dan Perritano is preparing to enter his 22nd season as the head coach of the men’s soccer program. He has guided the team to 16 winning seasons in the last 17 years, including six Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships, in 1997, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2013. Perritano’s 252 wins as the men’s soccer coach make him the winningest coach in the history of the program, which began in 1960. He has twice been selected by his peers as AMCC Coach of the Year, with those honors coming in 1997 and 2003. Last season, Behrend hosted its first-ever NCAA Tournament game after capturing the program’s sixth AMCC title with a 1-0 win over Medaille in the championship contest. The Lions finished 16-4-2 overall and 8-1 in conference play, while going 10-1-1 at home. In 2012, the Lions tied the longest winning-streak in all of Division III men’s soccer last season with 11 consecutive wins. Behrend finished with a 17-5 overall record and took second in the conference, while earning the No. 1 seed in the ECAC Tournament and falling in the semifinals.
