Daniel Adrian Radice (Coach Radice)begins his first year as assistant coach for the Men’s Soccer team at Johnson and Wales University. He was born on September 17, 1986 in Miami, Florida. His family is from Argentina, which is a big reason he started playing soccer at the age of 4 and has not stopped playing till this day.
He played in a club team called Miami Lakes Optimist until the age of 16, and then he transferred to Weston Fury when his Miami Lakes team broke up. In Weston, Daniel made it to the United States Youth Soccer Association National Championship (USYSA) 2 times. At one point his Weston team was ranked number 1 in the nation.
While playing for club, he also played for high school, in which he got the honors of making the all-county team. Coach Radice ended up graduating from American Heritage in Plantation, Florida in May of 2005, but not before winning a state championship with his high school as well. Heritage ended up going undefeated that year (29-0-3). While his club team was number 1 in the nation, his high school team ended up at number 3.
When he graduated high school, he got offers from several different Universities from out of state, but decided to stay in his hometown and attend St. Thomas University (STU), in Miami, Florida. In STU, Daniel got rookie of the year for the men’s soccer team. Coach Radice ended up graduating from STU with a bachelor of Arts in Sports Administration, with a minor in communications. Toward the end of his college-playing career, his coaching career started.
Coach Radice became the assistant coach for the American Senior High Patriots under head coach Ricardo Pelaez. Daniel was there for six years. In those six years, American won 3 district titles, one GMAC championship, and 1 regional championship.
