Darren Murray is in his second season with Harvard in 2014 and serves as a coaching assistant, working with the Crimson goalkeepers. In his first season with Harvard, Murray helped sophomore Evan Mendez become one of the top goalkeepers in the Ivy League. Mendez earned first-team All-Ivy League honors and helped the Crimson to a second-place finish in the league in 2013. Murray comes to Cambridge after a two-year run as an assistant coach at nearby Boston College. The stint was Murray’s second on head coach Ed Kelly’s staff as he previously assisted the Eagles during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Prior to his most recent stay at BC, Murray was the head coach at Endicott for four seasons. Other coaching credits for Murray include the New England Aztecs (2006-present), Newbury (2005-07) and the South Shore United Blazers (2002-05). He also spent time with the New England Revolution (2002-03) and three seasons at Mercyhurst from 1999-02.
