Dillon Napoleon, who in 2011 became the first player in University of Alabama-Birmingham history to be named Conference USA Newcomer of the Year, was named pitching coach at Berry College in August, 2012.
Napoleon, who was a second team All-Conference USA selection in 2011, his first with the Blazers after an All-American career at Heartland Community College in Normal, Ill. As a senior at UAB, Napoleon put together a 5-4 mark and earned victories over three nationally-ranked teams, including No. 5 Rice, No. 14 Central Florida and No. 16 Clemson. He was used as a starter, long reliever and closer at times during his final year.
In addition to National Junior College Athletic Association All-American honors as a sophomore at Heartland, Napoleon was also named the Midwest Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Year.
