Eric Buggs is in his third season at Holy Cross as an assistant volleyball coach in 2017.
Buggs comes to Holy Cross with several years of coaching experience at the collegiate and club levels which includes stops at Niagara, Canisius and Buffalo. Buggs spent his last two seasons at Niagara primarily responsible for all aspects of coaching, training, practice, recruiting and program management. He also worked specifically with the development of the setters on the team and held the in-match responsibilities of coaching the offense and serving. Buggs has also served as the assistant coach and assistant club director for the Buffalo Volleyball Academy since 2012.
Prior to his time at Niagara, Buggs spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Canisius College where he helped guide the team to consecutive MAAC semifinal appearances while recording a 23-13 record in MAAC play. He was responsible for training the outside hitters and passers while also creating scouting reports for opponents. In addition, he helped with recruiting prospective student-athletes to Canisius. Buggs spent the 2010 season as the administrative assistant for the Buffalo Bulls volleyball program where he used Dartfish to break down opponent video for scouting purposes.
Buggs received his bachelor’s degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland in 2010 and his master’s degree in sport administration from Canisius College in 2013.
