Fabio Boateng was named Head Coach of the Youngstown State women’s soccer program in December 2015. Boateng, who has head coaching experience at two different universities, becomes the sixth head coach in program history.

Boateng spent the past two seasons as the head coach at Mississippi Valley State. In 2015, he led the Devilettes to regular-season SWAC championship with an 8-1-1 record and an overall mark of 13-7-2. At MVSU, Boateng coached the SWAC Player of the Year and had six players named to the all-conference team. MVSU also led the nation with 3.86 goals per game, 3.09 assists per game, 10.82 points per game, total goals with 85 and total points with 238. The Devilettes also ranked second in the nation with 68 total assists.

Prior to MVSU, Boateng spent four years as the head coach at Lincoln University from 2010-13. He guided the Division II school to a program best 8-5-2 overall record in 2013 and gradually increased the team’s win total from one in 2010 to eight in 2013.

Boateng holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in the study of religion from the University of Ghana; a Master’s of Science in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a second Master’s degree in Business Administration in Risk Management.
