Ger Coppinger enters his third season as an assistant coach on Jon Leamy’s staff in 2013. Coppinger is tasked with the training of the Bears’ goalkeepers and also assists on the recruiting front. Coppinger and the MSU coaching staff orchestrated an imposing defensive product in 2012, limiting opponents to 14 goals, tying a single-season school record for fewest goals allowed. As a player, Coppinger was a goalkeeper on the varsity squad at Missouri Baptist for four seasons. After learning the position as a back-up, he took the reins as the starting keeper his senior season with the Spartans.
