Gina Ramirez begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s soccer program.
Gina played her four years of collegiate soccer at the University of California Santa Cruz. During that time, she began coaching local youth soccer players and developed her love for coaching. After her playing career, she served as an assistant coach for the Women’s Soccer program at UC Santa Cruz and helped the team to a top 25 national ranking, as well as three trips to the playoffs, including one trip to the round of 16.
At the conclusion of her fourth and final coaching season at UCSC, Gina moved back to her hometown of Sacramento, and took a job coaching for her former youth soccer club Sacramento United.
During her 8 years at Sac United, she obtained her USSF B license as well as her NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. She has enjoyed graduating several of her former players to 4-year universities, many of whom continued their soccer careers in college.
Currently, Gina is in the process of completing her masters in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Movement studies.
