an Eggleston was named Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach in June 2014. He spent 2013 as a volunteer assistant for the men’s team.

In his first season as the full-time assistant, Eggleston helped lead the Cougars to the most wins in a singles season in program history and a 13-4 overall record.

Eggleston helped guide the Cougars to an 11-4-2 record in his first year on the sidelines at CSUSM. The Cougars received their first-ever NAIA Top 25 ranking and won their most games since 2010.

Eggleston, originally from near Nottingham in England, moved to the U.S to play college soccer at the University of Evansville from 1991-94. He was a four-year starter for Evansville, playing center-mid or center forward, and was named team MVP, team captain, and all-conference during his playing career. Prior to playing college soccer, Eggleston played at the youth level for Northampton Town, Derby County and Nottingham Forest. Post college, he played for the Louisville Thoroughbreds in the U.S.I.S.L before moving to San Diego for graduate school.

Eggleston was a volunteer assistant coach for the Mesa College men’s soccer program while in graduate school at the University of San Diego, where he received his M.A in College Counseling. After graduate school, Eggleston returned to England to work in administration at Harlaxton College, where he was also the men’s and women’s soccer coach. Since moving back to San Diego in 2002, Eggleston continued his career in education, teaching high school humanities and coaching soccer at High Tech High International in Point Loma.

He and his wife, Catherine, now live in Carlsbad where they own a fitness studio that they opened together in 2011.
