Jake Plant joined the Eastern Illinois men’s soccer staff in the fall of 2014 after graduating from EIU with a degree in kinesiology and sports studies. The 2016 season will mark his third year as an assistant coach to the men’s soccer team. Plant assists in the day-to-day operations of the program in addition to on-field coaching.

The Birmingham, United Kingdom native was a member of the Panther men’s soccer team for two seasons (2012-13), playing and starting in 34 matches. He scored six goals and added four assists during his career.

In the classroom, Plant was a two-time Summit League Commissioner’s List recipient – recognizing student-athletes with a 3.0 grade point average or higher. He also helped the Panthers earn the Team Academic Achievement Award in 2013, awarded to the men’s soccer team in the conference with the highest GPA.

Plant recently completed a master’s degree in kinesiology and sports studies at EIU.reer
