Jazmin Ponce joins the FIU women’s soccer coaching staff after successful stints at both the collegiate and international levels. Ponce spent one year as assistant coach at Long Beach State.
Jazmin was a four-year starting forward at the University of Arizona where she garnered first-team All-Pac-12 honors as a junior and senior. Ponce left her mark in the Wildcat career record books, ranking first in shots (268), tied for third in goals (23) and fourth in points (53). Eight of those goals were game-winners.
In addition, Ponce was a member of the Mexican Women’s National Team that traveled to China for the Youngchuan Cup in February, 2014. Also, continued to play in Mexico and the US throughout the year.
Ponce prepped at Redondo Union High School. A four-year letter winner, she was twice tabbed her team’s MVP. Ponce played club for Force SC before joining Surf Soccer Club. She was also a member of the ODP Cal South Team for four years.
Ponce graduated from Arizona in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in family studies and human development.
