Jeff Joyner enters his seventh year as an assistant at Long Beach State, and is in his second season as the associate head coach.

In Joyner’s six years with the program, LBSU has claimed two Big West regular season championships and two Big West Tournament titles. He has also been a part of all four of Long Beach State’s NCAA Tournament appearances.

In 2012, Joyner’s first year as an associate head coach, the 49ers earned their third-straight NCAA Tournament berth. LBSU, which posted a 12-8-0 overall record, received an at-large selection after finishing fifth in the Big West.

Two years ago, Joyner helped the 49ers reach new heights as the 2011 squad won its second consecutive conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, the furthest that any Big West team has gone in the postseason. LBSU, which was 18-6-1 overall, also shattered the school record in wins (18), goals (49), assists (52) and points (150). Nadia Link was named a third-team All-American and the Big West Offensive Player of the Year, while Shawna Gordon earned Big West Midfielder of the Year honors. Four other 49ers garnered all-conference recognition.

In 2010, the team claimed its first Big West Tournament title and earned the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. LBSU closed out the campaign with an overall record of 14-6-2. Seven 49ers were selected to the All-Big West team, while Lindsay Bullock garnered midfielder of the year honors.
