The 2016 season will mark Jillian Saiberlich’s fifth with the Marian University women’s soccer program and third season as head coach. The Stevens Point native was named the fifth head coach in program history on March 31, 2014.
During Saiberlich’s first two seasons as full-time assistant coach with the Sabres, her teams compiled a 19-18-1 ledger, including a 16-6-1 mark in conference play resulting in two NACC tournament appearances. In 2013, the Sabres went 10-9-1 overall, 7-3-1 in the league and defeated Concordia University Chicago, 2-1, at home in the first round of the tournament before a season-ending, 3-1, setback at Aurora University in the tournament semifinals.
Marian has had seven All-NACC recipients in each of the past two seasons, including first team selection, Brittany Syms, 2013.
Saiberlich joined the program after coaching two years at Lakeland College as a graduate assistant. There, she received her MBA with a concentration in healthcare management.
Jillian also holds a USSF National D License.
Prior to her time at Lakeland, Saiberlich enjoyed a standout career on the women’s soccer team at NCAA Division II member St. Cloud State University. A center midfielder, she was named the team’s Rookie of the Year as a freshman and received the Most Improved award following a season-ending injury as a junior. She was a scholar-athlete and made the Dean’s List as a senior. Sauer received her bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management with a minor in community health.
Prior to St. Cloud State, Saiberlich earned four soccer letters and was an All-State and unanimous First-Team All-Conference choice at Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH). She was the team’s second-leading scorer and a two-time team captain, leading her squad to the sectional finals as a senior. Jillian resides in Fond du Lac with her husband, Kris.
