Joe Barber joined the Temple men’s soccer staff in May of 2016. A native of Leeds, England he holds his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, USSF E License & the English FA Level 2 coaching qualifications.

Barber joins the Owls from Eastern Florida State College at where he served as Assistant Coach for one season in 2015. In 2015 the Titans finished 3rd at the NJCAA D1 National Championships compiling a record of 15-2-2. During the 2015 season, Barber also won his first collegiate level game as an interim Head Coach against Jefferson College winning 3-2. The titans also ended the season producing 4 NJCAA All-Americans.

Prior to Eastern Florida, Barber worked for from the University of Mobile where he served as the volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2014 season. He helped the Rams win the SSAC regular season conference title, reach the NAIA National Tournament Elite 8 whilst compiling an end of season record of 15-4-3 & also finishing with a #6 end of season national ranking in the NAIA. While in Alabama, Barber also won the u17’s Boys Alabama State Cup with his club team, and was the assistant to the Girls u17’s team who also won their State Cup.

Barber played his college years in NCAA DII with Limestone College in South Carolina for 2 years, and then transferred to Florida Tech for his remaining 2 years of college eligibility. He graduated from FIT in 2014 majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Sustainability.A national ranking.
