Joe Tedesco joined the women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach in January 2017.

Tedesco has a wealth of experience at both the collegiate and the club level, coaching at three universities and numerous club teams. At the collegiate level, Tedesco has coaching experience from San Diego State University, Point Loma Nazarene University and Old Dominion. While at San Diego State, the 2009 Aztecs won the Mountain West Conference Championship with a record of 14-3-3 and made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament before falling to UCLA.

“Tedesco is an experienced and skilled recruiter and has experience in building championship programs,” said women’s soccer head coach Ed Joyce.

The 2012 recruiting class that Tedesco helped bring in to San Diego State won four consecutive Mountain West Conference Championships from 2012-2015. While at Point Loma Nazarene, he helped build a program that competed regularly in the NAIA National Championship.

In 2016, Tedesco served as the volunteer coach for the Panthers where he primarily worked with a defensive group of players that earned 9 shutouts and conceded 10 fewer goals than the 2015 squad. Tedesco holds several coaching licenses including the European UEFA “A” license, the United State Soccer Federation “A” license and the United States Soccer Federation National Goalkeeping License.
