John Roman begins his first season as Florida’s volunteer coach this fall and will coach the Gators’ trio of goalkeepers.

Before joining the Gators in January of 2016, Roman enrolled in the University of Florida’s graduate school. He received his master’s degree in performance psychology in 2015. He is a doctorate candidate in the University of Florida’s Performance Psychology program.

Roman coached goalkeepers at Fairfax High School in Virginia before relocating to Florida. During that time, he also worked as a business development specialist in the Arlington, Va., area.

He received bachelor’s degrees in international business and philosophy from Elon University in 2011.
